This painting depicts the view through the trees onto Oyster Pond. Near the center of the image, a tree trunk divides the foreground casting contrasting shadows onto a curve of roadway dappled with sunlight in the lower right. Behind the trees, is the view of the calm blue waters with floating flora ringing the shoreline, then a thin line of land before the distant ocean and an azure sky.
