This painting depicts the weathered face of a man with a cut on the top of his forehead that has sent a thin trickle of blood down the frown lines. His reddish suntanned skin contrasts with his near-white & pale-yellow-grey beard that compliments the bright summer light on the blue/greens in the glimpse of ocean behind him.
