This is a hand-painted banner that reads FIX IT! in fat square letters that are comprised of the stars and stripes of the American flag... so you see both the words and the flag simultaneously on first impression. The top half of the letters on the left are rendered with white stars on blue, and their lower halves, plus the letters to the right, are rendered in red and white stripes. Faintly visible are the blue lines of the grid that was drawn to scale the letters up from a sketch.
The banner was carried in the protest against the Citizens United ruling from the Supreme Court.
