This painting depicts the view across a vibrant green grassy meadow onto a pond and then a broad bay in the distance, framed beneath the overarching green of trees that line up on the left to colonnade a thin gravel pathway which curves around behind a hillside of shrubbery. A lighthouse can be seen on the distant shoreline in this bright summer's day.
