For those of you with low vision:
This painting shows a small rural train station built of field stone, shown in shadows with a bright summer day blazing in the lush forest and meadow landscape visible outside. A young girl is sitting in the shadowed hall, reading a book. The hall opens onto a small platform that reaches the rails that stretch back along the left side of the painting to the distant trees striped in sunlight. Tucked behind the station is a raggedy, disjointed barn structure with missing bits, and three phone poles lie in the gravel of the railbed. Tufts of grass and twigs cover the rail ties.
