Embedded in the surface of the paint are the words of this text:
come down to the dunes
the light's just right now
dazzling on whitecapped waves
and the pale grass soft
in the sunset glow
you can barely hear it
whispering in the breeze
grab the blue beach blanket
from the back porch please
I hid the bike with the basket
out behind the hydrangeas
take the old lighthouse road
as far as it goes
then left past the lilacs
and from there just follow
the sound of the sea
you'll find me

For those of you with low vision:
This is a painting on several layers of plexiglas and resin, backed by a lightbox that is subtle: not stronger than the frontlighting. It depicts clouds reflected on water in blue and white blurs of transparent paint applied with expressionist strokes of a palette knife.
