I thought I heard your voice
again. And I watched to see if you
might stop by just to say hello.
All the kids were scratching out
some sort of game in the sand
below and the boats were coming
back in the harbor and the screen
doors were wheezing up and down
the beach just as it had
always been but
without you.

This is a painting on several layers of plexiglas and clear resin that form a shallow translucent box filled with ambient light. It depicts clouds reflected on water in blue and white blurs of transparent paint applied with expressionist strokes of a palette knife.
