For those of you with low vision:
This painting is a vertically oriented rectangle divided into two prominent images, top and bottom, by a horizontal strip midway. The top and bottom images are realist, rendered in mostly mono-chrome blue washes of paint, with, superimposed over them, a nautical chart of the shoreline that calls out the masses of land and water, causing a gentle effect of double-exposure with the realist imagery. The top image is an interior with a wicker chair and a rectangular table below the view out a window, below beige shades drawn most of the way down, into full-colored summer colors of a white clapboard house against a green foliage background. The bottom portion depicts in the same monochrome blue washes a round table with a row of open windows onto a field in full-colored summer brightness. Embedded in the center of the painting, dividing the two scenes, is a full-colored panoramic image of a of a woman sitting on the edge of a huge covered porch, looking out across a summer landscape dotted with tennis courts and small buldings to a clear late-afternoon sky above the ocean, with a finger of land in the middle distance.
