I don’t really know if this was a bordello window but painting the detail of the sheer lace curtains nearly killed me, it took so long, and I had to make up a backstory to keep me going.
For those with low vision:
This painting depicts the view of two corner windows in the interior of a home. The right window is covered with a lace curtain and fills the majority of the composition. A small angled window to the left cast a bright ray of light onto the neighboring window, creating glowing abstracted patterns in ochers, greens, cyans and blues as it illuminates the lace. The silhouette of a round end table with a lamp and ashtray are layered on top.
