Gene was our yardman when I was a boy and he taught me about dogs and guns and the hookers in Paris in World War II. I think of him when I need shelter, refuge, in the backyard sort of way.
For those with low vision:
This painting depicts the view across a lawn onto a white house in the distance. A tall tree stands in the foreground casting a contrasting shadow onto the landscape. In overlapping view, reminiscent of a double-exposed photograph, is the view of a window with white curtains draped to the left side. Through the window panes, the white posts of a porch are visible on the outside, while the refection of a yellow lampshade is seen on the interior of the window.
